SMITH & CAMPBELL WELCOME SURGERY SITE VISIT

5.15.29pm GMT Wed 4th Feb 2009

Iain Smith MSP and Sir Menzies Campbell MP have welcomed the news that the NHS Fife Primary Medical Services Committee are to undertake a site visit before making a decision whether or not to allow the closure of Lundin Links surgery.

The two representatives of North East Fife said, 'We are pleased to see that the committee are taking this matter seriously, which will have far-reaching consequences for our constituents in this area. We have raised several points with them on behalf of the many constituents, not just in Lundin Links but also Lower and Upper Largo, who have written to us, clearly worried about the implications of the closure.

We hope that the site visit will include both the Leven and Lundin Links surgeries in order that the committee members have the fullest information and are best-placed to make the correct decision.'
