SMITH PRESSES STEVENSON ON RAIL GAPS

3.13.32pm GMT Thu 22nd Jan 2009

Following the introduction of morning peak-time gaps in rail services in North East Fife as a result of the timetable changes, Iain Smith MSP has written to the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure & Climate Change, asking him to confirm that these will be plugged by the time the summer timetable comes into operation in May.

In his letter, Mr Smith asked Stewart Stevenson, 'You may recall that I raised the gaps of well over an hour which have arisen during the peak morning times for rail passengers in North East Fife as a result of the new timetable. I now understand that you have given an assurance that all gaps in the new rail timetable will be filled by May. I would be grateful if you could confirm that this is indeed the case.'
