WHY DIG UP SOUTH STREET AGAIN?' ASKS SMITH

7.10.38pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 17th Jul 2008

Iain Smith MSP has demanded an explanation of the repeated digging up of South Street, St Andrews, with the newly-resurfaced road being dug up again for the laying of power cables for the new streetlights. Mr Smith said, 'Fife Council, as Roads Authority, is supposed to co-ordinate works which require the digging up of roads so that inconvenience to the public is minimised. An explanation for why this has not happened is required and I will be writing to Fife Council to ask for it.'
