North East Fife's MSP Iain Smith has slammed the decision by the Scottish Government to close the junctions on the A92 at Inverdovat and Station Brae which completely ignores the key decision of the Reporter to the public inquiry and the views of the local community who favour implementing speed reduction measures on the stretch of road.
Iain Smith said:
"What is the point in having a public inquiry if the Government completely ignore the key decision of the Reporter.
"People in North East Fife are becoming sick and fed up with their views being ignored by government agencies.
"The Minister needs to answer why he has failed to respond to the overwhelming demand from the local community for a reduced speed limit and why he has decided to force through the closure of Inverdovat junction despite the very clear view of the Reporter to the public inquiry that there would be 'no resultant improvement to road safety'."
