Following news of the latest delay to improving the access to Cupar Station, Iain Smith MSP has written to the Chief Executive of Transport Scotland demanding urgent action.
In his letter to David Middleton, Mr Smith said, "I was appalled to learn that the work to make the southbound platform at Cupar Station has been delayed yet again.
"Your last letter, of 26th May, stated that Transport Scotland was waiting for Network Rail to submit options, with a view to the works commencing before the end of this year. I was amazed, therefore, to read that Transport Scotland has asked Network Rail to review their work yet again and, presumably, come up with fresh proposals. In the meantime a significant number of my constituents are still unable to use half of their town's station.
"I would be grateful if you would get this situation sorted as a matter of urgency. My constituents in Cupar and the surrounding area deserve no less."
